Cookie Policy (Z.Harvest Gems)

Last Updated: January 21, 2026

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer or device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the site owners.

Cookies can remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, or other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don’t have to re-enter them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another.

How We Use Cookies

Z.Harvest Gems uses cookies and similar tracking technologies for a few reasons:

  • Essential Cookies: These are necessary for the website to function properly. For example, when you add items to your shopping cart and navigate the site, a cookie keeps track of your cart so that it doesn’t reset on each page. If you log into an account, cookies keep you logged in during your session. These cookies are generally session cookies (which expire when you close your browser) and are set by our platform (Wix) or our e-commerce system. Without these, the site might not work as intended.

  • Preference Cookies: We might use cookies to remember preferences you set, like your location or currency (if we offer multi-currency), or whether you dismissed a one-time pop-up so it doesn’t keep showing. These enhance your experience but are not strictly necessary.

  • Analytics Cookies: To understand how visitors use our site, we use third-party analytics services such as Google Analytics (and/or Wix’s built-in analytics). These cookies collect information about your interaction with our site, like pages visited, time spent, and any errors encountered. This data helps us improve our website design, content, and overall user experience. The information collected is usually aggregated and not personally identifiable; for example, we might see that “X number of users visited the New Arrivals page” or “Most users are from the U.S.” but we don’t know that you specifically visited a certain page. Google Analytics may set cookies like _ga to track pages, and it may collect your IP address (which can infer geolocation). We have configured Google Analytics to anonymize IP addresses if possible.

  • Advertising and Social Media Cookies: As of now, we do not run third-party ads on our site, so we’re not placing ad network cookies for targeting. However, if we embed content from social networks (for example, an Instagram feed or a Pinterest “Pin it” button), those third parties might set cookies. Additionally, if in the future we do retargeting ads (showing you our product ads on other sites after you visit ours), that would involve advertising cookies. We will update this policy if we begin using such cookies. For now, any social media or embedded content cookies are primarily to allow you to share content or to let those platforms recognize you (for instance, if you are logged into Instagram and you “like” our photo embedded on our site, Instagram may record that).

Third-Party Cookies:

Some cookies on our site are placed by third parties on our behalf (like Google Analytics, as mentioned, or Wix which runs the site).

Third-party cookies might also be set by:

·       Wix: As our site host, Wix may set cookies to manage load balancing, site security, and to implement features on the site (like Wix’s cookie banner, if active).

·       Payment Processors: When you go to checkout, Stripe or PayPal may set cookies to remember your login or to detect fraud. For example, PayPal might use cookies if you choose that payment method to streamline the process.

·       YouTube/Vimeo/etc.: If we have product videos or tutorials embedded from YouTube, a cookie might be set by YouTube/Google for tracking views or remembering your preferences (e.g., volume).

·       Social Media: If our site includes widgets from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest (like a “share” or “pin” button), those services may set cookies to properly show the widget and handle the interaction.

We do not have control over third-party cookies, but we ensure we only integrate trusted services. You can read those providers’ cookie and privacy policies on their respective websites for more details.

Cookie Consent

When you first visit our site, you may see a cookie consent banner (particularly if required by your region’s laws, like GDPR in Europe).

This banner will inform you that we use cookies and give you an option to manage your preferences. By clicking “Accept” on the banner, you consent to our use of cookies as described. If you choose “Reject” or “Manage Preferences,” we will (to the best of our system’s ability) refrain from or limit non-essential cookies.

Note that essential cookies cannot be turned off because the site won’t function without them.

If you dismiss the banner without making a choice, and continue using our site, it may be implied that you consent (depending on local regulations). However, you always have the options described below to control cookies regardless of the banner.

Your Choices: Managing and Disabling Cookies

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings preferences. You can typically:

  • Delete all cookies when you close the browser.

  • Block third-party cookies (or all cookies) completely.

  • Clear existing cookies at any time.

  • Receive notifications when cookies are being set, so you can choose to accept or not.

Please note that blocking all cookies, especially essential ones, may cause our site (and others) to not function properly. For example, if you block cookies, we might not remember your cart or login status.

Here are links to manage cookie settings for commonly used browsers:

  • Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data – or see Chrome’s official instructions on clearing or controlling cookies.

  • Mozilla Firefox: Options > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data. Firefox allows you to set “Standard” vs “Strict” tracking settings, or custom.

  • Safari (Mac): Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and website data. You can choose to block all cookies or only third-party.

  • Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions.

  • Safari (iOS): Settings > Safari > Privacy & Security to block cookies.

  • Android Browser: (Varies by device and browser, but typically under Settings > Privacy or Site settings).

You can also use browser extensions or privacy-focused browsers if you want finer control over tracking.

Opting Out of Analytics and Ads:

Google provides a browser add-on: the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

For interest-based advertising, organizations like the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) or Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) offer opt-out tools on their websites which can opt you out of many participating ad networks’ cookies.

Do Not Track:

Our site currently does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals from browsers, because there is no consistent standard for DNT and because we handle privacy through the consent and settings described. If a standard emerges, we will revisit this. (Nonetheless, you can always adjust cookie settings as mentioned above.)

Cookie Duration:

Some cookies (called session cookies) are temporary and expire when you close your browser.

Others (persistent cookies) remain until they expire or you delete them. Persistent cookies might be used for things like remembering you between visits – for example, if you clicked “remember me” on login, a persistent cookie keeps you logged in for a set time.

We generally set cookies to expire within a reasonable time (some analytics cookies by Google can last 6-24 months if not cleared; our own might last a few days to a few weeks depending on purpose).

You can see specific durations by inspecting cookies in your browser’s developer tools if you’re curious.

Changes to This Policy:

We may update our Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology or law, and will post any updates here. The effective date will change accordingly. If changes are significant (e.g. we start using new categories of cookies), we may also update our cookie banner to prompt consent again.
